Privacy Policy — XUnfollowGhost

This privacy policy applies specifically to the "XUnfollowGhost" Chrome extension published by Gavin Schnee Studio. For our general privacy policy covering all products, see our main privacy policy.

1. Data Collection

When you initiate a scan, the extension collects the following data from the rendered x.com followers page:

  • Screen names (usernames) of your followers
  • Display names of your followers
  • Avatar image URLs
  • Blue verification badge status

This data is collected solely from the rendered web page visible in your browser. The extension does NOT:

  • Access any X/Twitter API
  • Collect or transmit your login credentials, passwords, or authentication tokens
  • Make any network requests to external servers
  • Read your cookies, DMs, or any other private data

2. Data Storage

All collected data is stored exclusively on your device using:

  • IndexedDB — for follower snapshots, unfollower records, and scan history
  • chrome.storage.local — for extension settings and scan state

No data is stored on any external server. No data is transmitted outside your browser.

3. Data Sharing

The extension does not share, sell, or transmit any user data to third parties. There are no analytics services, no tracking pixels, no telemetry, and no external network requests of any kind.

4. Permissions Explained

  • storage — Save follower snapshots, scan history, and settings locally in your browser
  • tabs — Locate your x.com tab to initiate the scan
  • sidePanel — Display the extension dashboard as a persistent side panel
  • Host permissions (x.com, twitter.com) — Read follower data from the rendered page content

5. User Control

You have full control over your data:

  • Scans are manual — the extension only collects data when you click "Scan Now"
  • You can export your unfollower data as CSV at any time
  • You can delete all stored data from the Settings panel ("Clear All Data")
  • Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data

6. Third-Party Services

This extension does not integrate with any third-party services. It makes zero external network requests. All processing happens locally in your browser.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above.
